Henry Onyekuru Strikes Back!
Greek League's last champion Olympiakos has decided to send their Henry Onyekuru who is transferred from Monaco. The board and manager Pedro Martins hasn't satisfited Onyekuru's performance and they've thought about loan or sell him. When they were deciding that, Turkish teams are waiting for him.
Olympiakos chairman Evangelos Marinakis has checked 3 İstanbul teams' offers, but he hasn't satisfied yet. The board is going to want €5m for Onyekuru which is more than Olympiakos have paid. Also they think to accept loan offers too, but the board want to add a must-buying option on the loan contract. Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Galatasaray couldn't make a new offer for him. But maybe an another İstanbul team make an offer for the Nigerian international.
2020's Süper Lig champion Başakşehir has tried to buy Onyekuru's contract at the end of January, but their offer was €2.5m and this was too far from the Greek team's willing. Başakşehir have offered again that number with a player's trade. But Olympiakos can't add any players until the next season: The sixth champion of Süper Lig may change their strategy, and delay that move at June.
Henry Onyekuru is so popular in Turkish transfer rumours. Because he has played for Galatasaray as 3-time-loanee. He was the part of 2018-19 Süper Lig champion team, and sold from Everton to Monaco. After that move, Galatasaray has loaned him from Monaco twice. He has played 71 matches for the İstanbul team, and he scores 22 goals and 12 assists. He joined Olympiakos at summer '21 which has costed €4.5m.
